Monk in Yellow Robes

On a visit to Tashilungpo Monastery in Shigatse, seat of the Panchen Lamas since the 15th century and one of the greatest learning institutions in the history of Tibet, we passed this monk outside of the main Gompa - place of meditation in Tibetan. It's hard to fully capture this atmosphere in words, but there is something almost other-wordly about these places of devotion and prayer in Tibet. It is like getting a glimpse into how this wisdom tradition has lived through centuries, and still is very much alive.
